Mānuka is a common shrub or small tree found around New Zealand and in Australia that has many medicinal uses, including a special kind of honey made from its flowers. It has anti bacterial properties and an essential oil is made from distilling its leaves.
It also has the nickname Tea Tree purportedly coming from when Captain Cook used the leaves to make a tea like drink!
